18th Macao City Fringe Festival was concluded successfully

The 18th Macao City Fringe Festival, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, was concluded successfully on 27 January. This rich art feast featuring a total of 18 wonderful programmes and 10 extended activities during 17 consecutive days earned an enthusiastic support from the public. This edition of the Macao City Fringe Festival, themed “Extra．Ordinary”, featured artists from all over the world who led the audience to break through the restrictions and framework to rediscover the exceptional in everyday life.

18th Macao City Fringe Festival inaugurated
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the 18th Macao City Fringe Festival, is held from 11 to 27 January 2019. The opening ceremony was held on 11 January 2019, at 7:30pm, at the Old Court Building, and was officiated by the Vice President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Deland Leong Wai Man and representatives of the participating art groups of this edition of the Fringe Festival; and was attended by the Head of the Department of Performing Arts Development, Iu Wai Man; the Head of the Division of Performing Arts, Lei Lo Heng; and representatives of other art groups.

18th Macao City Fringe Festival kicks off this Friday
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the 18th Macao City Fringe Festival, to be held from 11 to 27 January 2019, will be inaugurated on Friday, 11 January 2019, at 7:30pm, at the Old Court Building, during when the “18th Branch of Macao City Fringe Supermarket” will have its grand opening. The performance Sigma then takes to the stage, showcasing virtuoso geometries through the combination of circus and classical Indian dance. The public is advised to purchase their tickets as soon as possible as tickets for some of the programmes are limited.

Tickets for the 18th Macao City Fringe Festival, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, went on sale in December. Sales reached a satisfactory result. Limited tickets are still available for some of the performances. The public are advised to purchase as soon as possible.

Call for proposals of programmes and performance venues
The 18th Macao City Fringe Festival, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will be held in January next year, showing once again a creative and innovative spirit and encouraging diversified productions. The call for proposals of programmes and performance venues is now open. Local cultural associations, artists and producers are invited to submit proposals by 5pm on 23 July 2018.

  • Tickets available through the Macau Ticketing Network from 10am on 9 December 2018 (Sunday);

TICKET DISCOUNTS

  1. 12% discount on ticket purchases over MOP200 for holders of BOC Credit Cards or BOC Card;

NOTICE

  1. Audience members are strongly advised to arrive 10 minutes before the performances start. The Organizer reserves the right to determine at what time and in what manner latecomers are to be admitted;
  2. Fringe performances are suitable for audiences aged 6 or above, unless otherwise specified. If the programme indicates a specified age limit, the organizer reserves the right to request and examine the valid identity card of any child to determine his or her age, and to deny admission to any child if that is the case;
  3. All mobile phones, beeping and lighting devices should be switched off throughout the performances;
  4. Smoking, eating, drinking or possession of plastic bags and/or objects considered dangerous is prohibited in the performance venues;
  5. To avoid undue disturbance to the performers and audience members, cameras and recording devices are strictly prohibited unless expressly authorised by the organizer;
  6. In case of adverse weather conditions, please check IC’s website, Macau City Fringe Festival’s website, Macau City Fringe Festival’s page on Facebook and IC’s Wechat account for the latest updates;
  7. Seating is not assigned and is available on a first come, first served basis.
  8. The organizer reserves the right to change the programme and/or the cast of performers at any time;
  9. The Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. Government reserves the right of interpretation and final decision regarding any dispute concerning these terms.

Extended Activities Enrolment

  1. Online application will be open from 10am, 9th December. Telephone application will be open from  9am, 11th  December. Applications will be closed the day before the activity and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  2. Due to limited availability, please inform the organiser as soon as possible if there is cancellation;
  3. Activities will be photographer or videotaped by IC staff for archival or evaluation purposes. Some of the photographs may be used for promotion of similar activities without consent from the participants in advance;
  4. The organiser reserves the right to alter activities.
